Chamagne keeps busy with a solo practice of her own, while educating the skin care professionals of the future.

WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS In my immediate future I will continue to teach and build business at my studio. My long-term goals are to own a cutting-edge spa, teach worldwide, and one day have my own aesthetics school.

MOST COMMON SKIN CARE QUESTION YOU’RE ASKED Being a 49-year-old African American who has dealt with acne and acne scarring, I am frequently asked how to clear hyperpigmentation and acne and how to prevent or reverse aging.

TOP SKIN CARE MYTH “Black don’t crack.” It is true that melanated skin tends to age more gracefully, but it has been known to crack, sag, hyperpigment, break out, and age if not properly taken care of. So, yes people who produce more melanin need to wear sun protection and have an A.M. or P.M. skin care routine using quality products.

FOOLPROOF SELF-CARE MOVE My foolproof self-care move is getting a manicure and pedicure every two to three weeks because my hands are my livelihood and I am always on my feet.

BACKUP CAREER I currently do some modeling and acting locally when it works with my schedule. So, if I were not in skin care, I would pursue those two things full-time.

WHO WOULD PLAY YOU IN A MOVIE Lupita Nyong’o. She is talented, classy, educated, and her skin is flawless.
