Every year, my staff, students, and I look forward to attending the International Congress of Esthetics & Spa in Dallas. We go as a group and enjoy seeing all the new skin care products and attending the training classes. The energy is always full of excitement and the room is filled with hungry minds that are eager to learn! It is fun for me to walk the floors and run into former students. I always enjoy catching up on their progress. Continuing education is such an important part of our professional development. Since there is so much to see and do at the conference, visit the website and request an early program so you can plan your time accordingly. Furthermore, do not miss out on the networking opportunities. There are so many professionals to meet and develop relationships with. I will be cruising the floor, so stop me and introduce yourself. I love to meet new colleagues and talk about skin care. The show is a good time to grab something new to increase revenue in your practice! Even if you do not have a significant budget, you can do small things to increase your sales. Summer is around the corner and so are your clients' need for sunscreen! One of my favorite ideas to encourage clients to use sun protection during all their summer adventures is to suggest that they keep an aero-mist version of SPF in their cooler – my clients love the way it makes them feel. When it is 95 degrees, nothing feels better than a quick, cool mist of sun protection! It hydrates and cools off the skin and is a pleasure to reapply when chilled! This method is an excellent way to get clients in the habit of reapplying sunscreen several times a day. Take a look at DERMASCOPE online and read up on sun protection facts and tips for more fun ideas. I hope each of you have an inspiring month, get signed up with AIA, and enjoy all that ICES has to offer so you and your staff do not miss out! Stay hydrated my friends! Michelle R.
