New Year, New Dermascope

Written by   Amanda Strunk Miller

The January magazine is always my favorite issue to publish each year. Not because of the editorial themes or wintery cover art; or because it is the start of a fresh year; or even because it is my birthday month. I love the January issue because it is when we roll out new departments, art layouts, special sections, and fresh and unique online content.

DERMASCOPE has many new ideas in store throughout the year. In addition to the 2017 editorial calendar, which has several new topics that our writers have been busting at the seams to contribute, there will be a few great industry giants that will be inducted into the AIA Academy of Legends. Our special sections will cover new topics, while our industry news section will become more in-depth for a more personal look at product developments.

To top it all off, DERMASCOPE.com is getting a major makeover. In addition to an update of the Products Guide, we have added a new spa guide that is available to all professionals. We created networks to connect spa websites to the product supplier websites. Anyone can upload content into these networks, so sign on and post your services and products. We have over 30,000 consumers each month looking for professionals in their area. Don't miss out on this free opportunity to market your business! We have expanded the Education Guide to be more comprehensive and are also expanding our community to provide you direct contact with leading educators and consultants at our Ask The Expert Desk. Finally, our library will include thousands of educational articles on all the popular topics in skin care today.

We are excited about the changes for 2017. We love to receive feedback, so keep reaching out to let us know what you like. I anticipate a successful and exciting year of growth for our industry. On behalf of the entire DERMASCOPE family, thank you for all your support!
