This coming April two important holidays will take place. On April 7, World Health Day’s celebration begins. Founded in 1948 by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.), this day is for raising awareness over the importance of global healthcare. With events throughout the world, this day is recognized as a way to discuss and bring awareness to topics like public health issues, diseases, mental health, and many more. Spa and skin care professionals can utilize this day as a time to discuss with clients, social media followers, and more how their health is of the utmost importance for maintaining balanced skin. This day is also a good way for skin care professionals to share the benefits of non-toxic beauty and skin care products that can benefit clients. This is an easy first step to achieving cleaner and better skin care regimens. National Stress Awareness Day begins on April 16 and was founded to bring awareness to mental health and the degenerative effects stress has on the body and mind. Many participate in this day by relaxing and taking the day off from a stressful job or environment. It could be a good time to discount massages, relaxing facials, reiki, and other spa treatments. Spa and skin care professionals can take advantage of this day by identifying the physical and mental stressors in their lives, as well as developing coping mechanisms for anxiety and other stress triggers.
