Before you begin this class, I want you to close your eyes and picture a typical women’s bathroom. Now imagine a man’s. Why is it that a woman needs hundreds of products in pretty tubes, jars, and sprays while a man can get away with a three-in-one shampoo, conditioner, and body wash? I’m not saying that men need all of those products, but I am saying that the health of their skin is not getting away with that same magic three-in-one. In this class, I am going to share with you my perspective on the future of men’s skincare along with some important reasons to introduce a man to a simple yet effective skincare routine. I will go into the science and psychology behind men’s skincare and what GM Revolution is doing to shape the industry as a whole. My name is Michael McGuire, CEO of GM Revolution. With a background in mechanical engineering, entrepreneurship, and growing up in the skincare industry, I was certainly unlike most men. Having a detailed skincare routine by the time I was nine years old, I had no idea that I was in the vast minority. It was not until I moved away to college that I saw how poorly most men take care of their skin. Since then, I have been on a personal mission to normalize men taking care of their skin. With this mission in mind, I took my years of personal experience to start GM Revolution, a professional men’s luxury skincare line. Our mission at GM Revolution is to introduce men to the concept of skin health while empowering them to be positive agents of change in their communities.
