As a woman of color, licensed aesthetician, licensed aesthetics instructor, CIDESCO Diplomat, and Skin Script education ambassador all within three years of being licensed owner, Ravin Nailon Nash, provides a much-needed perspective to the industry. Representation matters in the beauty industry and specializing in skin of color while focusing on educating the clientele in order to achieve optimal results is Kravin’s philosophy.

How long have you been a licensed aesthetician, and what drew you to the industry?

I have been a licensed aesthetician for four years; however, I started my journey working in the beauty industry seven years ago.My journey to the world of beauty was not paved with makeup brushes and mascara wands. My path was carved out of sweat, determination, and a love for learning that transcended the classroom.As a competitive athlete, I was more comfortable battling on the court than battling breakouts in the mirror. But even amidst the thrill of victory, I could not ignore the impact that the sun, dirt, and constant contact with others had on my skin.

My passion for education led me to a career in early childhood development. After seeing my own daughter struggling with skin concerns made me realize a vital life skill was often overlooked: the art of caring for your skin.While juggling motherhood and studies, I found myself temporarily sidetracked, helping others fulfill their beauty dreams at Paul Mitchell the School
