Summer Time is Here!

Written by

During the summer months, skin can become dry from too much sun or ironically from spending too much time in the water. In addition, due to the summer heat from its scorching temperatures, too much perspiration can also cause the skin to be oily. A great way to restore balance to the skin is by applying an herbal face mask.

Herbal Face Mask
Add a tablespoon or so of an herbal infusion. This infusion should contain herbs that are good for cleansing, soothing and softening of the skin, such as chamomile, sage leaf or yarrow.

Once the desired herb has been chosen, add to about half a cup of a kitchen staple as a moisturizing base, like yogurt, honey or egg yolk – this base will nourish, tone and hydrate the skin. Spread mask on face and neck, making sure to avoid the eyes, and leave on for about 15 to 20 minutes. After time is up, rinse the face well and pat dry. Please note that if your skin is very oily, it would be beneficial to add the herbal infusion to clay rather than a moisturizing base.
