This facial uses an ultrasonic skin scrubber to gently exfoliate, cleanse, hydrate, and rejuvenate the skin. Easily customizable for most all skin types and conditions, the scrubber is a great system that can be easily incorporated into chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatments for a great result. STEP 1 – PREP Prep the client and make her completely comfortable. Be sure she has removed any jewelry and perform a brief skin analysis and consultation. STEP 2 – CLEANSE Cleanse and tone the skin, using a cleanser that includes: Shea butter, witch hazel, and cranberry enzymes. The shea butter and witch hazel will help retain moisture in dry skin while the natural cranberry enzymes offer deep cleansing to remove dead skin and dirt. The natural fruit tannins effectively cleanse away makeup and debris, while the pleasant cranberry aroma relaxes the mind. STEP 3 – PEEL Apply a lactic acid peel to the skin and massage lightly for up to two minutes. A 25 percent lactic acid blend that includes blue agave, bilberry, seaweed, algae, yam, and passionflower extracts is suggested. This combination is invigorating and it will help create a relaxing aroma, exfoliate dead skin, oxygenate cells, and improve circulation, tone, and texture of the skin. Neutralize the peel with tepid water and sponges. STEP 4 – EXFOLIATE To effectively loosen compacted sebum and help simplify the extraction process, set an ultrasonic skin scrubber to its “exfoliation” mode. STEP 5 – EXTRACTION Extract any unwanted comedones from the skin. If the skin is heavily blemished, perform a second cleansing after extractions to help remove any surface bacteria. After extractions you may help calm the skin with a mask such as an herbal moisture mask or a warming pumpkin mask. STEP 6 – NUTRITION Combine a 5 percent hyaluronic acid complex, which is ideal for skin hydration, and a serum that contains Ester C, with vitamins A and E for stable nutrition, to the skin’s surface. Once applied to the skin, turn the ultrasonic skin scrubber to the “nutrition” mode and penetrate these beneficial products into the skin. STEP 7A – SERUM Apply an amino peptide serum to the forehead, eye area, and lips. A serum with a high concentration of Argireline® helps reduce the severity of facial muscle contractions by essentially interfering with the communication between the neurotransmitter and muscle, offering a Botox®-like effect. STEP 7B – PENETRATION Using the “erase wrinkle” mode on an ultrasonic skin scrubber, penetrate the amino peptide serum into the key areas of the face. The client may notice a light tingling as the product penetrates the skin. STEP 8 – MOISTURIZE & PROTECT Complete the treatment with a skin softening and nourishing moisturizer and an anti-aging sun protection lotion of at least SPF 30. Want to read more?
