How do you save money on spa disposables?

Written by

“I save money by buying at the ICES tradeshow in Long Beach, Calif. every year. I purchase a full year’s supply at the show. The vendors are very accommodating in adjusting my price when they see how much of everything I purchase. Such as, I bought 100 packages of eye pads, 21 boxes of wooden waxing sticks, and 30 boxes of gloves.”
Shelley Hess, founder and aesthetician at Facemaker Enterprises

“I use disposable gowns and bouffants. They are not really pretty, but it saves on laundry cost and time.”
Cheryl Goodheim, owner of The Works Skincare

“I use washcloths instead of paper towels because running the washing and drying machine every
day is cheaper than using and buying rolls and rolls of paper towels.”
Preston Livell, master aesthetician at Young House Spa & Nails

“I offer a glass of water to clients instead of a bottle of water. Supplying each client with a bottle of water adds up fast. It takes time and water to wash the glasses, but it is cheaper than buying packages of water bottles. Plus, if you offer a glass of water, you can include a refreshing recipe for clients to try!”
Marie Cunnerton, aesthetician at Dee’s Day Spa

“I just recently discovered that using rechargeable batteries saves me a ton of money! A lot of equipment is battery-powered, which led my spa to throw away countless batteries every week. With rechargeable batteries, we just charge them every night to make sure they are fully charged for the next day!”
Judee Varen, owner and master aesthetician at Skin By Judee

“I use containers to store things rather than Ziploc bags. With the bags, you can only use them once, but with containers, you can reuse them just by running them through the dishwasher.”
Rodney Freelen, owner of Freelen Feet & Nails
