Sweat is a critical piece of the puzzle for healthy, vibrant skin, and it is also vital for one’s health. Sweat occurs during exercise, hormone fluctuations, fever, and nervousness. The human body temperature resides at around 98 degrees Fahrenheit. When it becomes too hot, the hypothalamus sends a message to the eccrine glands to cool the body. When experiencing sweat stress, the sympathetic nervous system triggers the fight-or-flight response and activates the apocrine glands – again to cool the body to overcome danger without overheating.
